BOC Annual Planning Retreat.

The Board of Commissioners will hold a planning retreat on January 19 and 20, 2023 at the Mill on Etowah in the Events Central Conference Room, 225 Reformation Pkwy, Canton. Agendas for the retreat will be published on the County's website and indicate sessions open to the public.

Consider request for rezoning 8.94 +/- acres at 1519 Old Hwy 92 from AG to GC.

The Planning Commission voted to recommend approval with one condition.

Case #22-08-020 NGI Acquisitions, LLC (BOC Dist. 4).

Consider request to rezone 20.77 +/- acres from GC and R-40 to RM-16 with concurrent variances at 5236 Hopgood Road, 5206 Hopgood Road and 2134 Cascade Drive.  

Planning Commission voted to recommend approval of the applicant’s request for rezoning along with approval of concurrent variances with one condition.

The Planning Commission voted to recommend denial of the applicant’s request.

Consider request for rezoning of 37.39 +/- acres from AG to RZL at 2861, 3013, 2855 Sixes Road and 400 and 655 Hillhouse Lane; also requests concurrent variances to allow the development to be a gated community with private streets and to reduce the setback along Sixes Road. 

Planning Commission voted to recommend denial. Note: Applicant has requested postponement to 12/6/2022.

Case #22-10-026 SFG Properties, LLC (BOC Dist. 4)

Consider request for rezoning of 11.82 +/- acres from GC to LI at 5883 Little Ridge Road.  Applicant also requests concurrent variances to reduce the number of required parking spaces, to reduce the setback off James Dupree Lane and to eliminate the required fencing, berms and sidewalk elements along James Dupree Lane.

Planning Commission voted to recommend approval of the applicant’s request for rezoning with conditions; approval of two (2) variance requests and denial of one (1) variance request.

Consider approving Subrecipient Agreement in the amount of $78,000.00 with Malon D. Mimms Boys and Girls Club for several capital improvement projects from the County's ARPA 2021 allocation.

Community Development Agency Departmental Position Transfer.

Consider budget amendment in the amount of $58,046.00 to transfer the full time equivalent (FTE) position of Executive Assistant from the Planning and Zoning budget to the Engineering budget to consolidate the administrative functions of the Community Development Agency.

Position Change for the Felony Drug Accountability Court.

Consider approving changing current part time Case Manager position to a full time Case Manager position for a maximum net increase of $44,902.00 to be funded by federal and state grant funds and DATE fund monies.

Renewal of Network Infrastructure Maintenance.

Consider approving the renewal of Network Infrastructure Ongoing Maintenance on County networking equipment in the amount of $138,572.26 for an additional one-year term.

Consider approval of Amendment No. 2 to the design services agreement with Atlas Technical Consultants for roadway design services for the South Jett Road Roadway Improvement Project in the amount of $21,815.00.

Consider approving First Amendments to agreements with Bound Tree Medical, LLC for Pharmaceutical supplies and Medical Supplies to extend services an additional year each with updated pricing.

Call for a Public Hearing to be held on December 6, 2022 at the Board of Commissioners Regular Meeting to consider amendments to the Cherokee County Zoning Ordinance regarding storage facilities.

Consider approval of budget amendment in the amount of $162,325.00 for the Sheriff's Office to allocate collected fines from January to June 2022 from school speed cameras to purchase uniforms.
